I want to go to bed but Onyx is having a hissy fit, whining, crash landing on me then jumping down. I think she is really just jealous that TJ gets to stay outside at night and she doesn't. With her mobility issues and being totally black I am afraid to let her be out at night. As it is she is pushing her curfew. Last night she was out until 10 pm. Of course, right now she is lying in my arms purring up a storm and petting my face. She still isn't going outside!

It has been really interesting watching Onyx cope with the heat. She sleeps in most mornings until about 8:00 then goes out for a couple of hours to survey the yard then she comes back inside for a nap until about 2:00. At that time she checks out the food bowl then asks to go out again for a nap on the deck until about 5:00. After she has cleaned up every scrap left in TJ's bowl, including the smell, it is time to explore the yard again. Of course, if it is hot she will come in and take a nap on the AC vent or demand some cuddle time until about 8:00 when she needs to go back out again. I will admit she is very good about coming home by 9:30 or 10:00. Some days, between her schedule and TJ's, I feel like all I do is let them in or out.

This evening I was sitting on the bed doing some paperwork with it all spread around me, half-heartedly listening to Onyx tell me about her day. Evidently I was not listening intently enough or not worshiping her enough. First thing I realized she had done one of her levitation leaps and had grabbed my head (not a claw extended) and hung on 'til I gave her proper attention. You can't believe how strong her front legs are! She is currently dozing in my arms stretched out on her back, purring away, occasionally reaching up to pet my face. I guess you can figure who rules this household.

SES - I've got to meet this cat. Your stories crack me up. I remember the time we found my cat on the top of a door. There were no chairs, tables, or other midway points around - she went from the floor to the top of the door, somehow... still not sure how...

SES that is hilarious. At least there's no mistaking what Onyx wants. Reminds me of the puppy XDBF and I had. She would crawl up in his lap and lick his face when he was playing video games. I thought it was hilarious bc he would spend hours playing video games. And he could never get mad at her for crawling up in his lap. As they say dogs have owners and cats have staff.
