Okay ...... so I really have had too much time on my hands I think. A lot of this has to do with being short one boss at work- since one of the VPs I work for left and we have not yet replaced him.
Anywayyyyyyyy...........
Reading about Sharing's new State Flower quilt got me thinking about perhaps making a similar one centered around Canada. But since my applique skills are still evolving - and I already have several "in progress" quilts I am working on - I decided to create a "virtual" quilt. So here it is. My salute to the Tree, Bird and Flower of each Province. I call it Oh Canada

Honey--that is not just a quilt--it should be hung next to the bayeux tapestry. Virtual or not.

Honey, Just got home. (I spend the evening and night at BFF's as the poochies need in and out.) Oh that's just gorgeous! Those birds! Did you embroider them yourself? That red cardinal! I love cardinals! And the beautiful mauve-violet quilt is just marvellous. That's a thrill to see your work. You've a ton of experience, it is clear! The Oh Canada virtual quilt! What a great idea! Just yesterday, going or coming from BFFs, I saw a Canada geese parent pair with quite a number of goslings. They were standing over them with the stern look of a couple of teachers out on yard duty. It was funny. We are in the heartland of loon country, as well.
On Tuesday morning, a real treat...two moose calves were frolicking in a pasture area just off the main highway. They were really kicking up their heels. On Sunday morning, a smallish black bear (a female yearling, I'd guess) was ambling down the country road.
Honey, still smiling about the virtual quilt. What a clever idea! You are one of those all-around creative people.
