ROADS
Curved or straight, rough-surfaced or smooth,
Roads take us where we want to go.
To work, to the store, to the house of a friend,
To broken-toothed mountains of snow.
But sometimes we find, as we journey,
That the end of the road is unseen.
That around the next curve is just ----more road.
Life’s that road, and it seems that we’ve been
Riding along it forever, but in truth
The journey’s not long, and before we can say
“Slow down”, we’ve missed it.
And the sign up ahead says DEAD END.
