Well, Siying has arrived - though it was probably not the way I would have planned it.
The airport pick up on Wednesday August 25th went fine as did the luggage collection. However weather had once again closed the ramps out of Logan I needed to get us back onto the interstate. So after a rather unplanned circuit through Downtown Boston we were finally headed back to Lowell.
Things were going fine - until about three miles from home, on the Connector - when my timing belt snapped and the car coasted to a dead stop on the side of the road at 01:00 am. Poor kid, she has been traveling for over 18 hours and was now stuck on the road for over an hour until the State Patrol and Towtruck showed up.
Not the most auspicious beginning!

30 August 2010 [/u]
We had a rather busy weekend here. Friday evening we moved furniture around in the girls' bedroom to make way for the second bed as Ines will be joining us this week and they will be sharing a room.
Early Saturday morning my friend Ruth came by and we went berry and peach picking at a nearby farm. Siying had a good time and took a lot of pictures, and is eager to get to the jam making process - which we will do when Ines can help us.
Saturday evening my neighbors moved the second bed into my condo for me and we got it all made up for Ines. Siying says she is excited about having a sister.
Sunday we took a long walk along the river front and then went to an outdoor performance of Shakespeare's Twelfth Night. AND I was then able to go pick up my truck to have for work today.
Siying has offered to do some chores around the house today - I just hope she does not get too stressed out with the unfamiliar layout and items.
