Sharing - TJ is doing much better. Chowing down with real gusto. The thing I want to know is how sitting between my feet and yelling at me about his next meal speeds things up. I keep telling him I need my feet to get to his bowl, so he moves six inches closer, still voicing his dissatisfaction at my tardiness. Then he takes another six inch step and goes through everything once again. Onyx just hunches down and patiently waits for TJ to finish eating so she can slip in and scarf down everything TJ might have missed.
It is becoming cool enough that both cats are making a nest in the comforter just waiting for me every night. The comforter really needs to be replaced. The fabric is so thin and worn I am surprised the seams hang together as well as they do. I am especially surprised when I have to lift the comforter to move TJ, I keep expecting to hear a massive rrriiipp.
I had the most delicious dinner tonight, felt like I was sitting in Grandma's kitchen. One of my former coworkers brought some fresh produce over yesterday, including tiny freshly dug potatoes. I cooked up some sausages and fried up some potatoes and onions and diced bell peppers. So yummy!

Sharing- I am snuggled up in bed with a kitty on each side. I got home about 2:30 just as the snow started. I opened the door for a streak of grey and white and another of black. TJ stomped past me with his ears back, directly to the bedroom comforter; Onyx paused for a moment, with her tail switching, to chew me out for not being at the door the moment they wanted in. I opened the door to let them out about an hour ago and when she realized it was still cold out there she tripped over her own tail getting "outta there".
I was so tired I didn't even bake the bread I have in the fridge. Oh well, it will make the house smell wonderful tomorrow. Eight inches of snow are being predicted overnight, so I would imagine it will be a good day to stay in.

Miracles do happen. We have had deep freezes since last Friday night and snow. Today as I was feeding the cats on the deck I counted 7 new petunia blooms. I thought all if the plants were frozen dead.
The other big miracle happened yesterday. I ran out of dry cat food Saturday night and would not go out in the snow for more. When i went out Monday I made sure I had dry cat. It would have been ugly if I had come home without dry food even though they had plenty of wet. When I filled the bowl they BOTH ate out of the same bowl at the same time without fussing and fighting!

Ses – Sounds like TJ and Miss Onyx are finally truly a family. Doesn’t mean they won’t fight (all siblings do) but they love each other just the same. What a sight that must have been.

Boy has today been strange. It started when both cats demanded to go out at 6 am. So they went out and I went back to bed to listen to the Sunday news shows (same old, same old). Headed back to the kitchen about 7:30 noticed it was raining so I opened the door for two streaks of fur who sped straight to the bedroom and onto the comforter, luckily they weren't wet. I continued with the news programs until i glanced out and it looked like it was snowing marshmallows. Big puffy wet snowflakes/snow balls. By this time it felt like a grey gloomy winter day so I baked the last of my crusty bread. It warmed up the kitchen and made the house smell wonderful.
Then I got to act as doorman again for TJ, 45 minutes later he was demanding to come inside out of the rain. Soaking wet this time, he trotted straight to the laundry, sat on the mat and yowled until I came in grabbed a towel and wiped him down. He is not spoiled or anything. It is now raining again, if not cats and dogs at least kittens and puppies. Maybe it is time for a nap

SES_, Did you get an earful from TJ about the inclement weather? I do, when Nugget comes in with rain or snowflakes on his coat. He's a Turkish Van, and they don't have the uncover layer of woolly fur, but their fur is actually hair (you couldn't tell the difference at short range) which allows water to bead away. They are sometimes called the swimming cats. They come from the Lake Van area in Turkey- who knew? I didn't- but I remember the young lady at the P.etsmart adoption center was very excited about this swimming cat thing.
Nermal, the orange tabby would get soaked right through and none too happy about it. Nugget just looks like a largish white cat with a crest of orange-brown and a ringed white and orange-brown tail. If you google them, they are as cute as can be, and the kittens are just about cupcake delicious.

Oh, Sharing, you have no idea! They both have been letting me know their displeasure with the weather, at the top of their lungs and all day long. Then Onyx goes to pout in MY recliner and TJ claims the very middle of MY bed. They both have very comfy, plush baskets but evidently they are not good enough today. I will say this damp weather is really doing a number on my back. This is the first really painful day in months and months. If it is like this tomorrow, I may try to see the chiropractor. Perhaps a hot shower will help and then straight to bed.
Does Nugget swim? Or should I ask if you have ever seen him swim?
